Because our 83-bed facility is small, the physical and emotional well-being of our residents is never overlooked. High staffing ratios, delicious Armenian and American meals, state-of-the-art equipment, seven-day-a-week activities, and a multi-lingual staff reflect our commitment to providing close, caring attention to the needs and desires of all of our residents.
Competent and Caring Staff
Many of our staff have contributed 15 years or more of service. In fact, over 45 percent have been with us for 5 years or more. We hope you will get to know as many of our staff as possible because the best care is derived from close family/staff relationships and shared efforts. Our nursing department practices primary nursing care that provides consistent caregivers for your loved one. Several of our staff are multi-lingual. Among the languages spoken here in addition to English are Arabic, Armenian, French, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.
The Armenian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center offers short-term rehabilitation to patients whose goal is to return home. Our outstanding team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists provide services seven days per week in a newly expanded and comprehensively equipped rehab suite.
Complex Medical Services
Our nursing staff is trained to handle complex medical needs such as IV therapy (medication and hydration), complex wound care, cardiac care management, ostomy care/teaching, respiratory care and end-of-life care/palliative care.
End of Life Care
ANRC nursing staff and social worker, together with our affiliated physicians, nurse practitioners, and local clergy, directly provide care to our residents at the end of life. We believe residents' families and the ANRC staff the resident has come to know and trust can best provide the loving care and attention needed to minimize pain, suffering, and fear.
100% of the resident rooms on our second floor unit and eight first floor rooms are equipped with overhead lifts that provide unparalleled safety and comfort for residents who are unable to bear weight for bed to chair transfers. Overhead lifts are always operated by 3 caregivers including one licensed nurse or therapist.
Electronic Protection System
Our Center has a state-of-the-art electronic wander alert system to enhance the safety of our residents who are wanderers. A light-weight, electronic bracelet alerts the staff should a confused resident attempt to leave the second floor or the first floor exits unaccompanied. However, because we do not have a locked unit, we are unable to accept for admission residents who persistently seek to exit the building unattended.
Our seven-day-per-week activity program features programs and events such as cooking groups, current events discussions, Bible study, musical entertainment, and exercise groups. We also offer bus trips to a variety of destinations. Religious services are offered weekly. Two activity staff members work in the building every day of the week. We also have a dedicated group of volunteers who regularly visit, play games, conduct Bible studies, and provide musical entertainment for our residents.
Under the supervision of our Registered Dietitian and Food Service Director, we serve delicious, nutritious meals and snacks guaranteed to please even the most particular eater. We feature a combination of Armenian and traditional American cuisine with an emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables. We also provide therapeutic diets as prescribed by the attending physician.
